Harvesting a relationship - Punjab Tractors Limited, Chandigarh

Punjab Tractors Limited was set up in 1970 as India's first manufacturer of indigenous tractors. The company was promoted by Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (PSIDC) with equity participation from Financial Institutions, HMT and the public. 


Mr. Yash Mahajan, VC and MD, Punjab Tractors Ltd. says “Our relationship with TCI began in 1974 when Engines were first transported from Faridabad to Mohali. We feel very confidant and assured when we opt for TCI as our transporter of heavy items. TCI uses open trucks and low bed trailers fro our transportation was not a regular line of business fro TCI we persuaded the local office to lift our tractors to various locations in the country. This assignment was given to the local office at a very short notice and we were happy to note that over past two years it has been established as a regular line of business for Chandigarh office. Over 600 Tractors each month are being sent to our Dealers through TCI” said Mr. Mahajan.
“XPS Services, the door-to-door service, established by TCI has also been adopted by us for transportation of our small cargo both for incoming consignment from vendors and for outgoing consignments to dealers. In a matter of two years XPS Services, the door to door service has become very popular and is well known among our vendors and dealers for quick and reliable services.
