TCI wants bigger global footprint

Transport Corporation of India (TCI) is planning to expand its operations in the international logistics market. The company will set up businesses in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sri Lanka and Dubai this fiscal, reports Priyanka Talwar. The company plans to enter the European market in 2008-09. Its operations include freight forwarding, courier and local transportation. “The focus will initially be on setting up our branch offices in the South-East Asian market which has tremendous growth potential. We are also in talks with a Sri Lankan logistics company to enter the Sri Lankan market as a courier franchisee,” TCI executive director Chander Agarwal said.
