TCI Seaways, the shipping arm of Transport Corporation of India, announced on Wednesday its acquisition of a fifth vessel, TCI Surya, according to company sources.

With this, the company's fleet capacity rises to 16,000 dwt. Mr D.P. Agarwal, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of Transport Corporation of India, said TCI Seaways was planning to acquire three more vessels in the next few years. "We have plans to augment our shipping business which is witnessing an exponential growth," he said.
