TCI Safe Safar

Road safety remains a major concern in India. A high diversity of road traffic including high-speed vehicles and riders, inadequate road structure and improperly kept vehicles all contribute to high injury and accident rates.

As per the government data, every year about 1,50,000 Indians lose their lives and about 4,50,000 suffer injuries in road accidents. It results not only in emotional as well as financial trauma to the victims but also includes losses which are borne both by the government as well as by the companies. Every hour 17 people die on the road due to an accident and the number of fatalities is one third of the number of accidents, which amounts to 53 road accidents every hour. (*source: Morth India)

To address this serious issue and create national awareness on the subject of safety, TCI Group has introduced “TCI Safe Safar”, an initiative that aims at creating awareness on health and safety. The main attraction of the programme is a specially fabricated environmentally friendly vehicle that will make stops at transport terminals and industrial parks to engage with its key audiences. Encouraging thousands to take a pledge of health & safety.

Strengthening “ TCI Safe Safar” further, the initiative was officially launched and inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Shri. Nitin Gadkari at the Honorable Minister’s residence in New Delhi.

So far, TCI Safe Safar has been successfully running for past 4 years, covering states across India. In the next one year the aim is to reach around 25000 truck drivers.

We believe that road safety is a shared responsibility and we need your support to spread the word and make India’s roads safer, one kilometer at a time.
